10 Reasons why Canadians should invest in the USA
1. Political System: With the Canadian political system, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, runs the country, he won with 34% of the vote. He was re-elected, after being exposed in black face, and firing the head of the country’s justice system (a principled woman of native descent) for failing to intervene in a court case with big backers SNC Lavelin. Oh, and currently his wife and family have received hundreds of thousands of dollars from a charity (WE) that his party proposed a billion dollar contract to. He can do whatever he wants, he can’t be impeached, apologies work in Canada, law and order in the USA. Strangely, Canadians don’t care.
2. Unemployment: at the time of writing, 8.46 million Canadians receive $500 per week tax free, with a workforce of 20.5 million people. My math tells me Statistics Canada July unemployment rate should be closer to 41% not the reported 10.9%. Meanwhile, second quarter GDP of 2020, for the United States reported a 34.3% drop, while Canada expects to report a 12% drop for the same period. Really? Strangely Canadians don’t care.
3. Debt levels: Canadians are the most indebted in the world, not surprising with the average house price $504,350 Cdn versus $226,800 US in America. They must make a lot of money, right? No, median household income for Americans is $61.9k, and $61.4k for Canadians. Strangely, Canadians don’t care.
4. Record Keeping: in Canada there’s probably still more Social Insurance Numbers (read Social Security Number) than there are people. Strangely, Canadians don’t care.
5. Subprime lending: in Canada you can buy a house using your credit card as down-payment, and get a mortgage if you have a pulse. Oh, and just last year they decided to try and track who in the world owns them going forward. Strangely, Canadians don’t care.
6. Productivity: Canadians are the most educated in the world (OECD), yet Canadian productivity is one of the worst in the world (USA #5, Canada 18th). Not really sure what they’re learning, but obviously it doesn’t payoff. The world must like it though, they have 721,205 international students (2018), out of 2.12 million post-secondary students (34%). It’s a good way into the strange country, international students can stay and work. Strangely, Canadians don’t care.
7. Unity: Canada has no culture, it is officially multicultural, not just in name, in it’s largest city, call it the greater Toronto area, where 25% of Canadians live, non-Canadian born people make up the majority. What is a Canadian? Strangely, Canadians don’t care.
8. Government Debt: Canada boasts a low national debt, yet one of it’s 10 provinces, Ontario has the largest non-sovereign debt in the world. Btw, that federal debt just increased 50% in 2020-2021. It’s easy to hide debt, because, strangely, Canadians don’t care.
9. No Tradition: Canada replaced it’s founding father, First Prime Minister, Sir John A. McDonald from it’s currency, akin to the USA removing George Washington from it’s one dollar bill.
Tenth, Many Canadians criticize the United States. Their Presidents can be impeached, last time I checked it’s hard to win with 34% of the vote and even then, they have an elected congress to keep the boss in check, they’re not as indebted, housing is reasonable, their statistics make sense, they have a culture, they are powerful and productive. Easy to criticize success, but you don’t want to pick on the little guy or yourself.
Okay, technically this is 11th. Why is there a border and different currency? Canada and the USA are the two biggest trading partners in the world, they both speak English, and they kinda like each other. France and Germany don’t have a border share a common currency, speak different languages, and do not generally like each other. Strange, what are Canadians afraid of?
The Canadian media reports some of this, yet few question it and if they did, strangely, I trust, Canadians won’t care.
